It didn't look promising...

As we set of for our "camping" (i'll explain more later !LOL )trip,it was pissing it down outside
Img_4977
but we soldiered on with promises of sunshine and smiles for the weekend.
I will tell more tomorrow as I am knackered from a 21 month old kicking me in the head for two nights straight and I need to go to bed but here are a couple of my favorite pictures from the trip.
As happy as a clam...

Bunking off..

It is so hard to stay on top of writing the blog at the moment. The sun is out,the weather glorious. All we seem to be doing is hanging out on the stoop blowing bubbles or shooting hoops in the yard.
Madam I started basketball a few months back and immediately took to it.Ever since she had her first go,all she wants to do is hang in the yard and practice her skills.

Img_4646
So that's it really.A great thing though is that Papa has three whole days off this weekend. This is a big deal as we don't get to spend a lot of time together as a family and it can be quite straining at times. We are going camping this weekend.Everyone is super excited.I will make sure to take lots of pictures and share with you on monday.
On a side note,I just added the cutest (yes,I am bias) accessories to my store
My model was on top form this morning and I managed to capture some great shots. What do you think?

Yodel-ay-eeee-ooooooo

Firstly, thank you for all of your kind words yesterday, they all helped lift me up just that little bit higher and I am doing quite dandy right now:0)

With everything that was going on,the sewing machine gathered a little dust.At the weekend I started up the engines and gave a few ideas a test run.I try to use my travels for inspiration when coming up with ideas.France being my favorite place EVER,comes into play a lot.I also spent two winters in the Tyrolen mountains in Austria. This is where the idea for my new shorts came from.I tell you,Peter could have pulled Hiedi in a heart beat wearing these

Img_4943
It would have helped if mister 'O' kept them on long enough for pictures!!!
here's a better shot

Img_4946_2
Here is O looking for "wiwwelllls" (squirrels!) he stood still for a second,I nearly broke me neck as I bolted for the camera!!

Img_4942
And in two seconds flat,he had them off!!

Img_4944

These ones stayed on long enough for a quick game of croquet, you know, along with the afternoon tea that I serve at four o'clock sharp everyday!!

Img_4914
just a side note, steer clear of a two year old wielding a wooden mallet!! You have been warned.

Img_4905_2
After a quick diversion of playtime with good time charlie (A.K.A Papa)

Img_4916

The mallet was replaced with a rubber ball and Mummy has all her teeth in tact.....just!!!

Img_4935
But....he soon found it again and mummy ran off, left Papa to duck and weave and snuck some chocolate under the table in the kitchen

So what do you think??
Both are available instore now
gosh,it feels good to be back:0D

Been a wandering..

It's been a while folks.Sorry about that.Things happen, life happens.I would love to tell you all that we live the idyllic life of bread baking, playdough making, crafting, laughing, running barefoot through the flower fields on a daily basis. But we don't,not all the time! I don't want to share too much here, not now.I will just say that it has been a rough couple of weeks but things are slowly getting back on track, day by day and I am starting to feel a lot better.
Monday,we had a much needed family day.All of us went into NYC and went to the American natural history museum. It was so much fun, although due to a terrific downpour, everyone and their uncle were there but the kids couldn't have cared less. There were dinosaurs to be seen,BIG dinosaurs and no one,not even a hoard of dripping wet tourists narrowly missing our eyeballs with their fancy, way too long, designer umbrellas were going to get in our way!!!
As I said,ALL of us went, but in MY mission of sandwich making, bag packing, mapquest copying, headcounting and taxi driving,it seems that unbeknownst to me,camera taking was on my list of things to do aswell that day,so sadly, there are no pictures of the day!!!
I feel very blessed to have such an assortment of great museums to take the children to,and all so close.NYC is a mere 35 minutes by car, unless of course you want to go in at eight am,then you could probably get a plane to Florida before you could get to midtown.Gee I am so thankful that I don't have to commute.Nothing like working from home,I say.
Anyhoo,I am waffling from an overload of things that I want to share,so I am going to show some pics and be off.Hopefully I will get back in the groove and share everything over the next few days.
My hubby groans at me sometimes as I am always taking pictures.Thankfully,I block him out and don't listen, otherwise shots like these wouldn't be had!!!

Ah well,we had a great weekend too so I will share some of those pictures.Img_4929_2

Wash yer mouth out.

Somedays I find it very frustrating that people don't understand what I am saying because of my accent.Today, however, I was very relieved!!
I had a not so very proud mummy moment this morning.
We were tootling along on our merry way,no one crying,no one squabbling,no one bleeding. Actually,it was the first time in a while that we had left early for school.I see someone waiting to pull out of an interection, one that is busy at school time.It has a very sweet and chatty cross guard and sometimes even a police man.Obviously not today though. That is sod's law for you.Anyhoo,I see this person and I think to myself, 'nah, she's not going o pull out,I am coming this way (less than twenty feet away) and someone else is coming the opposite way' but I hover my foot over the brake,Thank goodness that I did, this #@#$@ pulled out.But not until I was probably ten feet from her and not super speedy either, nice and slow.I hit the brake, and missed her by maybe two inches,no I am not exaggerating!! Before I knew it,the profanity spilled forth!!! Acckk, what can I say?? I am not the sort of person to say" kindly my dear, after you" when someone just stupidly nearly caused an accident involving my dear babes!!! She just meandered along on her merry way.No sorry,or hand up to apologize. My knees were shaking and myself on the driver of the oncoming car just shook our heads at each other in disbelief. I quietly thanked my guardian angel for once again watching over us and I set off on my way.
Doesn't he look so angelic?

Img_4820
Out of those cherub lipped popped
"Mummy,what's a facking eedgit "?
Pass me the bar of soap!
So today I am happy to still have my accent after seven years in the USA or I would be in big trouble!
At least we are all safe and sound and in one piece, hey?
Have great day,
Cheerio

Madness I tell you,madness!!!

Hello all:0)
I trust that you all had a fantastic weekend. We had papa home for the weekend so with good time charlie taking over the parenting reins for a few hours,I managed to get some more sewing done.yay.More about that later but first I have to share these pics of my nephew's second birthday party.Much fun was had at this place space and I loved it too as I got to sit for a while and chat .There were helpers to 'help' the babes so I grabbed the chance to sit while someone else played with my babes for a while.
There were plenty of ooohs and aahhhhs when the cupcakes were presented, which quickly changed to ARRRGGGHHHHS when my sister-in-laws sister, who made the cupcakes, declared that it 'only took a half bottle of food coloring to make the elmo red!!! Yes,you guessed it,she doesn't have kids!!! Note, madam 'I's white dress and mister 'O's delightful pale tunic. There was a stampede of parents as we all rushed to save our babes party outfits from a multitude of permanent red smears! Alas,my own shirt succumbed to the dreaded red in the rush, but hey, that's what we do as parents isn't it? sacrifice ourselves for our babes!LOL :0)
I promptly sidled over to the 'baker' and informed her of a lovely store in the city that sells clothes friendly food coloring!! Poor thing, she was bombarded with "you obviously don't have kids" comments!!
Jumping bean.

The great thing about these is that both my boys can wear the same pair.Talk about easy on the wallet.

Soaking it up..

What a day yesterday was.Sunshine all the way!We spent as much of it outside as we could and when we were inside,we found little pockets of sun warmth through the house and played in them.
soaking it up.

Img_4693
feeling the warmth on his skin.

Img_4690
Then of course, our daily tantrum from Master 'G'
when will this end???

Img_4699
I chased him around the house snapping away, much to his chagrin and his sister's glee!

Img_4698
Once things calmed down we went to the library and returned our very overdue books! Shhhh don't tell hubby but I could probably stock the book shelf in the overdue fines that we have paid since living here!! I try really hard to remember,I do.I just forget!!
Anyhoo much more fun was had in the library parking lot garden than inside!
Madam 'I' tried to teach the boys how to roll down a hill.Very amusing!

Moving on..

I have plucked up the courage to try something new on my machine.A blouse, with gathering..du..du..durrrrrr!!
Arrrgghhh,I had the pattern cut out for a good week before I could bring myself to cut out the fabric, then a few days went by with it sitting by my machine ,staring at me!I would just look the other way but then a good friend had the baby that I had it in mind for. There was no turning back now! You see, this baby was a good four weeks early,I had figured that I had plenty of time to back out and make a good old, tried and true, receiving blanket or something but things happen. My dear friend lost her father unexpectedly a week before, then there were complications with the pregnancy and miss Ava was delivered into the world. She is doing well.I am so happy that they have this joy in their life at a time where much sadness has been experienced. So,I said to myself, don't be a cop out.Put your whole heart into it.Give it a go.Don't be afraid of it anymore, what are you going to do,make simple things forever, that's no fun!! So,armed with lots of chocolate, wine and band-aids (I am a clumsy clown when it comes to pins, and boy this needed A LOT of pins!!) I got to work.An hour and a half later,I emerged from the basement with this

Img_4688_2
Yes,that sleeve on the left is ever so slightly bigger than the one on the right but that is because this was my first time ever with gathering and I became slightly frustrated and pulled a little too hard and broke some of the thread.I thought that I had fixed it but obviously not!
It is only noticeable when it is dangling in the air for pics though:0)

Img_4689
And these buttons are vintage,I was ecstatic to find that they came in various sizes.I bought a gigantic bag at a church fair a while ago and I still hadn't managed to go through them all. This was the perfect time.Boy,there are some stunners in there!!

Img_4683

Img_4684

So what do you think?
I can't wait to give it to the little peanut, more importantly,I can't wait to meet her.I just hope that I don't get broody!!!
